Architectural and other features of Burj El Khalifa
Burj Khalifa (The Tower of Khalifa), is the highest building of the world with its 160 floors and 829.8 meters of height (as of 2019). The construction was started in 2004 and completed in 2009 and it was opened in 2010 as a part of the Downtown Dubai Project. The aim to realize such a sensational project was to make the country more attractive in the tourism field. Contrary to what is believed, Dubai is not an emirate manufacturing petrol and that’s why the country has been trying to diversify its economy. In return of Nahyan’s financial assistance during the construction of the building, it was named after the Abu Dhabi Prince Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as a gesture.
