Asia is the largest continent in the world and extends in the eastern half of the northern hemisphere, from the Arctic Ocean by the north, to the Indian Ocean by the south, and from the west, it reaches the Pacific Ocean.
As the biggest continent in the world Asia consists of 50 independent countries. Armenia and Cyprus geographically are in Asia, but politically and culturally they also are considered as a part of Europe. Turkey is in both Europe and Asia continents and politically in Europe, as a member of COE, NATO, AGIT and as a candidate to EU.
Asia continent has a lot of touristic destinations including big and modern metropoles, mountainous and deserted lands, some of the coldest lands in the world and the most beautiful tropic islands.
Russia, China and India are three largest countries of the world and these three countries has more than 30 million square surface area (230 times bigger than United Kingdom).
Asia Minor is geographicly belongs to Asia continent and has the oldest human settlement of the world in Gobeklitepe, Sanliurfa (dating back to 12.000 years ago).
The worlds oldest writing created around 3200 BC (5200 years ago) in Mesopotamia by Sumerian civilization.
The birthplace of three monotheistic religions (Judaism, Christianism and Islam) are also borned in Arab Peninsula where belong to Asia continent.
